Dimitar is a beekeeper in Byala Cherkva near Pavlikeni. His honey is a bouquet of sunflower, linden, meadow flowers and herbs. Apart from beekeeping, he is also a carpenter. He makes baskets, stands, souvenirs and also makes his own hives. He has been keeping bees since 2012.
Dimitar’s story: “Everything happend accidentally – a saw a bee colony cuddled up in an old tree and that really provoked my curiosity. The same year, with the help of an old beekeeper, I caught two swarms. Since then I have been fascinated by the interesting and vast world of bees. Gradually I increased my bee colonies and to date I keep 100 hives on two apiaries in the area of the town of White Church, producing honey, pollen and propolis.”
