Anton and his wife Milena, together with their bees, are the heart of the family beekeeping farm. Anton is a hereditary beekeeper and as a child learned basic skills from his father, who kept 20 hives. Later he turned this into his calling. With the support of his wife Milena, who shares his passion, today the Stefanov family has 150 hives and develops mobile beekeeping in the area of Svilengrad between the Southeastern Rhodopes, the Maritsa River and Southwestern Sakar.
Anton and Milena participate in the “Adopt a Hive” program ????
“Combining tradition with innovation in beekeeping, we aim to develop boutique production of proven quality and contribute to the global cause of saving bees from extinction. For us, beekeeping is not just a craft, it is a passion combined with knowledge and skills accumulated over years of practice.
In addition to the high quality of our natural bee products, it is very important for us to contribute to increasing the culture of consumers both in terms of bee products and bees and their importance in our lives – ecological and social. Bees are an important teacher for us and an inexhaustible source of inspiration” – say Anton and Milena.
The Stefanov family follows trends and enriches their knowledge on a daily basis. Anton is the president of the beekeeping society “Thracian Bee” in Svilengrad. Their bee products have a unique taste thanks to the rich flora in the area. Their mobile beekeeping allows them to provide bees with varied and nutritious source of nectar and pollen – sunflower, coriander, thyme, clover, vetch, oregano, lemon balm, thistle, linden, acacia and other flowering herbs, trees and shrubs. Anton and Milena produce a unique honey bouquet, and in addition to honey, they also produce pollen and propolis.
